Klarna: Leading Cashless Revolution in FinTech

The term FinTech is not a particularly new technology, nor is it a hot concept like AI that suddenly burst into our lives. Mobile banking, money transfers, or any financial transaction that we use almost every day is a FinTech service. FinTech is a compound word of finance and technology, and refers to solving existing financial problems or providing new financial services based on IT technology. In other words, the services provided by financial companies alone are provided by actively utilizing IT companies and IT technology through FinTech.

When you move to a new country, the first thing you do is to open a bank account, because it is the first thing you need to acquire a card and pay or send money. Sweden, in particular, is a country where cash is rarely used anywhere, so transactions via mobile are particularly well developed. It's been years since I've used Swedish krona notes or coins myself.

Compared to South Korea, a IT powered country, the Swedish system is very simple and easy to use. While South Korea's authentication method is based on verifying your mobile number at first, Sweden's authentication method is based on your mobile Bank ID, which is verified by your bank, and unlike a couple of layers to verify in Korea, more authentication than BankID is rarely used in Sweden. Even so, security and phishing incidents are relatively rare in Sweden. Since cash withdrawals are rare, they are monitored and managed through the bank's computers.

It's worth noting that US citizens are required to declare on a special form when opening a bank account, which means that US tax laws and the tax office will automatically link between systems and are required to report for their income if it is above the allowance. That is bad.
